Curb Appeal

Image
Good morning,      It is currently 9AM and I feel like it is 5pm. Talk about a morning. As I am unwinding from the crazy morning and continuing to prep for the day, I got a call from a good real estate friend of ours needing help to get their clients home ready for the market. A big thing, a lot of people don't know, when getting your home ready to sale is that curb appeal is everything. Think about it, as humans we are attracted to pretty and clean things. When something looks dirty on the outside, we rarely ever attempt to approach it, because we assume it is a mess on the inside as well. So a lot of times when going through a real estate company your agent, if you have a good agent, will advise you to get the exterior of your home cleaned before they take pictures and before they post your home for sale on the market. Now don't get me wrong, not all homes need the works. However, our top recommendations before putting your home up for sale are as listed below wi...

Wash your roof!

Image
Good afternoon,      This morning I was looking over some of our before and after pictures and this set really stood out to me. The difference of this roof is so remarkable, it is like day and night. I know a lot of us don't realize how dirty our roofs get over time, but when you think about it...the roof gets all of the natural disaster. Rain, wind, hail, tree sap...you name it, your roof gets it. Especially our homes in Houston where the humidity is high! It is truly crazy to see the difference first hand. For example, when I am visiting friends and family in Dallas I can be driving around looking at roofs (yes, whenever I am driving around I am noticing all of your roofs, it is part of what I do after all. I can't help it) and they all look like they were just built, very few have stains. Then when I come to Houston and I am driving around looking at all the roofs, most of them have mold, mildew and algae stains (like the image below). Reason being is because it is muc...

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Image
Good morning,       I hope you are enjoying your week so far! I know it has been a crazy one over here at Nothing But Clean with all of this cold weather we are having and everyone trying to get their homes winter ready. This time of year is always a big time for gutter cleaning, due to all of the storms that travel through with the winter winds, as well as all of the freezing weather which will freeze what is in your gutters and ultimately weigh them down. You got to have properly working, flowing and empty gutters. If not, we all know that can lead to a whole new world of problems. However, I must admit that weather proofing your home does not just start and stop with making sure your Gutters are cleaned. A few other things you may want to have done when trying to prepare your home for the colder weather are window cleaning, house washing (soft washing) and pressure washing of your ground work (cement). Reason being for these is simply because you always wan...

Washing Softly

Image
Good Morning!      I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend, because now it is back at it! Today I want to talk a little about Power/Pressure Washing vs Soft Washing. I get a lot of questions regarding these 2 things and why we do one over the other with certain things. So let's jump into it... Power/ Pressure washing is a high pressure cleaning with water, pressure washing is typically great for cleaning your cement/ ground work. Not so much for your home, because the high pressure over time will tear out the mortar of your home which in turn lessens the life of your home. Now I know I can't speak for everyone, but lets be honest....houses are not cheap and I will be the first to say that I do not want to lessen the life of my home in any way.  Soft Washing is a much more gentle process in which you soak whatever it is you are cleaning in a special solution, depending on the stains or the surface you are cleaning. We may even use a brush to rub in ...

How is your Monday going...did you wake up feeling like you are ready to conquer the week, or did you wake up with the Monday Blues?       Today at Nothing But Clean, we woke up ready to conquer our week and ready to make your home look so clean people will think you just had it built. Today we will be knocking out a little bit of everything i.e. Christmas light removals, gutter cleaning, window cleaning, house washing and pressure washing of ground work/ flat work. Why not start your Monday on a clean slate right? I mean after all it is the first Monday of the New Year, Happy New Year, lets set these standards high! Your Monday is only as "Monday" as you make it, so lets make it a great one!      How I started my Monday, woke up and read a few inspiring quotes as I drank my morning coffee, followed by checking the weather for the week because in the exterior home cleaning business I like to be educated and know what we are up against. Also, I really f...
