Washing Softly
Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend, because now it is back at it! Today I want to talk a little about Power/Pressure Washing vs Soft Washing. I get a lot of questions regarding these 2 things and why we do one over the other with certain things. So let's jump into it...
Power/ Pressure washing is a high pressure cleaning with water, pressure washing is typically great for cleaning your cement/ ground work. Not so much for your home, because the high pressure over time will tear out the mortar of your home which in turn lessens the life of your home. Now I know I can't speak for everyone, but lets be honest....houses are not cheap and I will be the first to say that I do not want to lessen the life of my home in any way.
Soft Washing is a much more gentle process in which you soak whatever it is you are cleaning in a special solution, depending on the stains or the surface you are cleaning. We may even use a brush to rub in the solution a bit more. We let that solution soak for a little bit and then gently rinse it off with no more than a water hose like pressure. We personally recommend Soft Washing for any and all homes, even brick and of course softer surfaces like siding and stucco. There are times we will even soft wash the ground like in the picture below. We had the pleasure of doing a full house wash on this home as well as the ground.
In the before picture please note the irrigation stains around the pool. These stains are stains that will not come up with just pressure washing. You may be able to lighten them up a little, but they would still be very apparent with just pressure washing. However, if you see the after image you can see the stains are no longer there. This was done with the soft washing process, when hiring your exterior home cleaner it is always good to do a little research and not be scared to ask questions. You don't want to hire Jo Schmo who says he will pressure wash the area and thinks he can get it with just his pressure washer, only to save $100 and not get the stain out. Then you're not only out of pocket already but you still have to look at the stain by your beautiful pool. Your exterior home cleaning technician should never be one to shy away from questions but always be excepting of them and willing to answer them. I know on a first hand basis that Cody the Owner of Nothing But Clean always loves to answer questions for any and all of our customers as well as go over the process with them so that they are educated about the process and in the know.
Until next time...
