   What a wet day it is, being in the exterior home cleaning industry it makes me glad that we were able to clean all the gutters that we did this week. I know that may sound kind of silly, but not having your gutters cleaned on a regular basis can be a big deal. To be honest, it is more of a necessity than it is a luxury. For example, did you know that not having gutters to direct the rainwater can over time be a cause for foundation issues? Gutters primary purpose is collecting rainwater from the roof and directing it away from the foundation of the house to prevent foundation issues. That being said when we don't take care of our gutters, not only are we neglecting them but we are also neglecting the integrity of our homes. When we fail to maintain these routine cleanings, ultimately the water will overflow from the gutters defeating the purpose of re-directing the rainwater and sometimes even flooding our homes (talk about expensive repairs). However, it is not just the debris that causes problems...we all know what shingle roofs are right? I mean only about 75% of all homes in North America have them. ;) Well did you know with just natural causes like wind and rain, they cause your shingle mud to fall into your gutters and that shingle mud is heavy, especially when accumulated? Well, rest assured, I am here to tell you that these are both facts. You see over time with just everyday wear and tear, our shingle mud falls into our gutters, accumulating over time and weighing our gutters down. This in turn causes the dreaded and more expensive need for gutter replacements, when this could have all been prevented with...you guessed it! Routine Gutter Cleaning and at only a fraction of the cost.

Wash your roof!

Good afternoon,      This morning I was looking over some of our before and after pictures and this set really stood out to me. The difference of this roof is so remarkable, it is like day and night. I know a lot of us don't realize how dirty our roofs get over time, but when you think about it...the roof gets all of the natural disaster. Rain, wind, hail, tree sap...you name it, your roof gets it. Especially our homes in Houston where the humidity is high! It is truly crazy to see the difference first hand. For example, when I am visiting friends and family in Dallas I can be driving around looking at roofs (yes, whenever I am driving around I am noticing all of your roofs, it is part of what I do after all.
