Winter Wonderland

Good afternoon,

We wanted to hop on here real quick to check on everyone! We know things have been crazy here in Texas the past week. Just the other day Cody and I were talking about how we just skipped right through winter and how it never even got that cold this year. Then BOOM! This Winter Wonderland just blows through and takes Houston by storm. Now I must admit, when they came on the news to announce how mad things could get and to go buy water, toilet paper, etc. I was not one of those that took it to heart. I wish I had been, but I was not. Fortunately though, we did have our normal groceries stocked up. I wasn't prepared for rolling black outs, I did however weather my pipes to try and prevent them from freezing and bursting. However, I wish I myself would have been more prepared. I guess when you never experience something in your lifetime, you never know how bad it can get. Walking through my candle lit house at one point made me think of how back in the day, before electricity, how they did it. How they stayed warm, how they had enough wood for everyone to keep in their fire place...I personally don't even own an axe to go and cut a tree to make my own wood. Guess I will be investing into one of those now.

It's crazy to me to think of how far we have some in this world with technology for it to still with one storm in the blink of an eye all be taken away. Walking through the grocery store today makes me sad to see all of these empty shelves, especially knowing that A LOT of that food that every one bought up went to waste seeing as how the electricity went out. Some for days, some hours and some only minutes. However, milk and meat are only good for so long before before they reach a certain temperature and you have to throw them all away. I know you could have stuck things in the snow, but what about those that had their electricity taken from them while they were sleeping?  To say this past week was chaos, is most definitely an understatement. Our hearts here at Nothing But Clean go out to everyone during this time. We know the aftermath from it all is only beginning and we want you all to know that each and every one of you are in our prayers!

Stay Safe Everyone!

Until next time,

Nothing But Clean
